Todd and Kelly Get MarriedJune 25th 2006 |

Congratulations to both Todd and Kelly Fox! They got married yesterday and now they are on their merry way to Jamaica to celebrate in some crazy ways. I have to say, their wedding was the most fun wedding I have ever been to. I was an usher with William. It was fun to usher the ladies to their seats before the wedding and then usher the grandmothers to their seats. Afterwards was one of the coolest receptions ever. It was at the Red Mile here in town.
The reception started off with the introduction of ushers, groomsmen, and ring bearers and such. Then we sat down to have a great meal of chicken cordon blue while Kelly's dad and D-well offered up a toast. After the toast, William got up to use the bathroom and came back with wide-eyes and chocolate all over his face and says, “Dude, there's a chocolate fountain down there!” So I went with him to indulge in a few strawberries covered in chocolatey goodness.
Next up was the real party part of the reception – the dancing. There was a band there from Nashvegas that was great, they played everything from The Temptations, to Gloria Gaynor, to Kool and the Gang. Oh yes, and the famous Marvin Gaye song... Let's Get It On. What's a wedding reception without that song? They started off with the “first dance” between Todd and Kelly, then father-daughter dance, then mother-son dance and then all the people who were in the wedding were supposed to dance with the person they were paired with. Well, William and I, as ushers were not paired with anyone, so we were in a sticky situation so I looked at William and said, “OK, here's the deal. We both don't have a date to dance with and there is a fully-stocked table of young women behind you. Right before we are supposed to go up, let's ask if any of them would like to dance with us.” Well, William wasn't so excited about the idea, but I was determined to ask a girl to dance with or without William so right before we were supposed to go to the dance floor, I went to the table behind William that had like only one guy and all the rest were women. I explained how the next dance was a partner dance and the ushers had no partner to dance with. When I asked if anyone would like to dance with me, no one jumped up all excited and said, “I WILL,” but they all kind of looked at each other not really knowing how to respond. Then I looked at the one I had noticed a little earlier and thought, “Wow, she's cute,” and pouted my lip and gave “puppie-dog eyes.” Then she swiveled in her seat to get up with the attitude of “oh, what the heck” and said, “I'll dance with yea.” As she made her way around the table, it felt so good to offer my elbow to escort her to the dance floor. Her name was Erin. :)
I tell you what, I danced nearly the whole time. My body was saying, “Stop you fat fool!” but my mind was saying, “PAAAARTY!!!!!!!!” and guess which one won? While I was dancing, my dad came over to me and said, “Come here, I have someone I want you to meet.” He introduced me to two girls that he randomly went to and said, “Do you want to dance with my son?” We danced a little and then dad started talking... and I got embarrassed. He was like, “This is my son who is fresh off the tree...” Freash off the tree?? What does that mean? “He would make a great husband...” Oh my gosh.
Anyways, I ended up dancing with Kacie (one of the girls my dad introduced me to) the most. She was so much fun to dance with. We even did a little slow dance together. I know she was one of Kelly's friends so I need to get her number somehow and see if she'd like to go salsa dancing with me and Andon, Courtney and David on Wednesday nights.
Anyways, after all the dancing and shinanigans, I went to my boss's birthday party to say “Hi” to a few of the guys. As Chase (my boss) was introducing me to some of his friends, we went out to his porch where it was dark and he introduced me to a few more people. Then this girl came up and Chase said, this is my friend Erin. And I shook her hand and said, “It's nice to meet you,” and she replied, “Wait, didn't I just dance with you?” I was like, “Whoa, you're Erin!” She was the first girl I danced with at the wedding! How crazy is that?
By the way, Shooting Extravaganza #3 is this Saturday the 1st. If you can make it, come for a great time.

So, who's going on Saturday, I can't wait to go shooting again. I'm so excited about shooting old computer parts, and perhaps even D-Well's old Motorola brick cell phone. I wish Curt were in town to join us.
