The Linguistics Professor From StrangevilleJanuary 15th 2006 |

I have spent most of this Saturday working on this site. I have updated the aesthetics of the comment section (I still have even more upgrade plans for the future) and I created a search page that allows you to search blog entries, comments and even pictures on the site. Now I am going back and uploading all the old photos that I used to have on the site into the new photo gallery Ifinished the other day.
I went to two more of my classes on Thursday, German Film and Linguistics 211. The German film professor looks like the kind of guy you might see at an Abercrombie & Fitch store or something. He has an earring, un-tucked shirt and “styled bed-head.” His last name is Rodgers and he started out the class stressing that his name is not “Mr. Rodgers,” but “Professor Rodgers” or “Dr. Rodgers.” HAHA!
In my Linguistics class, there are about thirty people on the waiting list, so the room was so full that there were people sitting on the floor and standing just outside the door! It was crazy. As soon as the professor came in, she made a “I'm in charge here” impression as she stated in a “I've done this a million times before” type of demanding voice, “I will talk with you after class about the waiting list, so don't come to me asking about it. My name is Mrs. Guindon, that's G-U-I-N-D-O-N.” She went on to talk about the waiting list for a few minutes, then she walked over to the computer and put in a “Blues Brothers” CD and walked out with “I'll be back in five.” As soon as the door shut behind her, the class burst into laughter. We had no idea how to respond to such behavior. When she came back, we went straight to the computer, went to Google images, and pulled up a picture of Johnny Depp and left it there on the screen for the entire duration of the class. WOW. I don't know what to say about that.
Last night, William and I went to Starbucks to watch Ira play his mad guitar. He did an awesome job! William and I once again entertained ourselves at a Starbucks by taking the clay from a Cranium game and made a lot of little cubes. William put them together to make Tetris pieces and played a real-live game of Tetris with the little clay blocks. We then smushed the cubes together to make letters and made a logo for Ira while he was still playing. Then we reached a new low when I made a character, “Block-head man” and William made a character “Lizard Man” out of the clay and we fought them to the death like we were in the third grade again. It was sad.

It's my fault.
I almost wrote something last night.
But I didn't.
I am sorry.
