A Saturday at Memaw's House

I spent my Saturday at Memaw's house and had a great time. She made some good pork-chops and some AWESOME cornbread. If you haven't eaten Memaw's cornbread yet, you are missing a major treat. After eating, we headed out the the London mall (also known as “Wal-mart”) and purchased more groceries than we knew what to do with. With a full cart of groceries, we pulled into one of those “self-checkout” lanes. On the little screen prompting me to select a language, I gleefully pressed the “Spanish” button and began to scan the items. After scanning a few items, I pulled up this big bag of apples and tried to search the screen for “manual entry” of the apples. I couldn't seem to find the correct code and after a little while, the “Wal-mart self-checkout helper lady” came over and said, “We don't do it that way here.” She turned the bag of apples over to reveal a barcode. I gave an “oh, that's where it is!” kind of look as she slid her “manual override” card into the little screen. Once she realized the screen was in Spanish, she frustratingly asked, “Did you put his thing in Spanish!?” I politely let her know that I needed to practice my Spanish.

After a few more items were scanned, the blasted machine wouldn't let us scan anything else. The little helper lady was back again and giving even more frustrated looks as she slid her override card through the screen again. After she left and we got stuck a third time, she came back to us to explain how the machine worked as if we were idiots. She swiped her little card again and walked off with a frown. Needless to say, it took a while to scan and bag a full cart of groceries with a self-checkout lane speaking to us in Spanish at a London Wal-mart.

We are going to go shooting again really soon! I am thinking the 24th of February if that works ok with everyone else. If you didn't go last time, just look at the pictures and you will be convinced you need to go this time. Just let me know if you want to go. And guys – this is an opportunity for us to invite members of the human race called FEMALES! I know this particular type of human is a bit unknown to us, but we must try as we might! I urge you brothers, to go out there and find a girl or two who would be interested in shooting some old computers and water jugs. Last time, MAP was the only girl out there and she was a better shot than all us guys! This mustn't happen again! Work on your form and aiming skillz, and we will come out on top. ;)
