Clowning Around

I added a bunch of new pictures and videos!

Sorry that the updates are coming slow these days, but we have been keeping busy with all kinds of crazy things. Today we are heading out to Antigua to stay the night since there is a group from Missouri coming here to the Shalom house to stay tonight. I am taking Jennie, D-well, Melisa, and Corey to some cool places in Antigua.

This past Saturday, little Reuben celebrated his 2nd birthday with a little party we threw for him. There were about 10 kids there in total. Of course in Guatemala, you can't celebrate a birthday without a pinata! I have some good video action of that so make sure you check it out in the video section. Ivan and I were clowns. We had a little "clown show" performance and I had a great time acting silly in front of all the kids. One part of the show Ivan and I were about to start a "blow-up this balloon" contest. When the kids said, "GO!" I quickly pulled out a hand pump from my pocket and blew up the balloon before Ivan could even get any air into his. We had a great time.

Shalom School is on its two-week mid-year break right now. This break is allowing me to do some more work for the Shalom Foundation with the Child Sponsorship database and redesign of the Shalom Foundation website. I created a logo for the Sponsorship program and the foundation liked it so much that they are going to use it for the whole foundation. Here it is if you havenit seen it already:

Wellington ended up bringing his computer to school so that I could take a look at it. When I started to exam the computer for a reason as to why it wouldn't boot-up, I found that the fan to the CPU wasn't plugged in. I remember when I didn't put a fan on my first CPU that I built. It melted. Wellington had a similar problem, his CPU was beyond repair. Thus the only solution was to buy a new CPU to fit the motherboard or just go ahead and upgrade the CPU, motherboard, and RAM. Of course that's like having a new computer entirely.

Most of the kids at Shalom have email addresses now! It's been so great having Internet in the classroom these days. It was wonderful to see this one girl sign up for an email account and the first thing she did was send an email to her sponsors in the States.

I am getting a custom tailored suit made!! It's soooo cheap here! I am getting a custom tailored cashmere suit for about $60. That's amazing! We went fabric shopping a week or two ago to find the darkest black we could find. Let me tell you, Guatemala City is chock-full of fabric stores.

Well, I'm off to Antigua!

Sam, I love the Logo.! I see emphasis, balance, color, line, shape and a very talented grandson. It really makes a statement.

Love you and missing you
