Easter 2008 at Crossroads Christian ChurchMarch 24th 2008 |

I'm all about cool technology being used in non-traditional contexts. This past Sunday (Easter Sunday) I went to Crossroads Christian Church where I saw one of the coolest tech-aided church services I have ever seen. The lighting, the music, the videos - it was great. They also had this great big display that said "believe" with cool lighting on it. It was on this massive truss that lowered during the service and then raised at the end. It was pretty cool. Scott was the lighting master behind all of the cool lighting effects throughout the service. It was probably the coolest church service in Lexington. The videos were also done really well and professionally. Most of the time when videos are done by church volunteers, they look like total crap. Sometimes I think that it would have been better for these crappy videos to have never been made. But at Crossroads, they looked very professional. Here is a Mac vs. PC Parody they did about a "church-goer vs. a Christ follower".

Thanks for posting this, Sam. A lot of times production elements in church services don't usually get the positive feedback that they need or deserve, unfortunately it's normally a matter of a congregation saying, "too loud" or "that was distracting" and not taking it in as a whole, or at least an extension of the whole, of the service, of the emotion of what's being said (or sung) on stage.
