West Coast Wednesday!June 12th 2008 |

I drove the 2 1/2 hours to Detroit and went to West Coast Wednesday. When I first got there, I looked around the wide floorspace at a beginner class in session. I scanned the crowed, looking for anyone within a decade of my own age. My scanner was not finding anyone. All old people. Crap! And they're all newbies too. I didn't give up hope though. As the night progressed, new people began to enter the room. They were YOUNG! AND THEY COULD DANCE! Yay!! By "young" I mean under 40 years old. I was so happy to dance with someone under the age of 60. There were some really B.A. West Coast dancers there and even a few dance pros!
I met a lot of new people and had a great time. My name started spreading around quickly for some reason. After several dances I started dancing with this one lady who asked me if I was the one who came from Grand Rapids. haha.
I started dancing with this one girl, Jessica who looked like she was 12. But she was a junior in college. She was cute. After West Coast Wednesday was over I walked out into the parking lot and slid into my truck. I put the truck into reverse and looked in my rear-view mirror and saw Jessica running up to my truck. She came up to my window which I rolled down and she handed me a piece of paper. She said, "Here's my number in case you wanted to call me later." Nice.

Maybe they were into you because of your CRAZY eyes! Just a thought. I always find myself attracted to guys whose eyes look like Satan's, too.

Hi Sam...it's Debra (the one on the left)...your name spread quickly through the crowd because we Amber House (West Coast Wednesday) ladies love new cute guys who are great dancers. Throw in that infectious smile of yours, and you've got a winning combination. If I were a junior in college again, I would have been racing Jessica to your car.
