The Camera Made ItJuly 5th 2007 |

So I made it OK to Guatemala yesterday. I was worried that my massive carry-on Canon XL2 would be too big to carry onto the plane. The first plane I had to take from Cincinnati to Huston was an "Express Jet" with overhead compartments far too small to fit my massive camera. I took the bag to the flight attendant and said, "This is an extremely expensive camera and I don't want to check it under the plane in fear that it will be broken." So the flight attendant waited until everyone had boarded and there was an available seat in front of me so he sat my into the seat and buckled it in with a "fat person" seatbelt extender.
Last night Ivan, Antonio and his wife came over to Mark and Andrea's house to have dinner. It was so awesome to see them again. At the dinner table, we were discussing what we could do while I was here. Antonio (who I taught the computer class with) was on vacation from school and Ivan was in between jobs since he just got back from serving in the military in Hatti. So both of them were down with hanging out with me for the short amount of time that I am here. I think we're going to go on sort of a Guatemalan road trip (and Antigua will be one of the hot-spots of course.)
Well, I am off!

Arizona is the last step of this road trip. Too bad his brother and family won't be there. I enjoyed my time with them and I'm sure Sam and MAP were looking forward to it as well.
